Our world, Thelosia, is fairly peaceful. At least, at first glance it is. Mostly woods, and mountains. Not much to say about them. The cities, on the other hand, floating high above the surface, now there, there is wonder. Protected from the dangers that live on the forest floor, the two grand kingdoms soar high on a blend of powerful magic and advanced technology, protected from the demons who skulk among the trees.
The Aviai have the largest population. Fair of skin and long of wing, they rule the skies. A complex caste system rules the flocks that soar and wheel. At birth, your feathers determine your lifepath. Born a greenwing, trained as a healer, to die as a healer. The same for the other castes, and those blessed with wings of purest gold destined to rule the flocks.
The Draconi hold an uneasy truce with their fairer kin. Long and lithe, the Draconi are the dragons of old, reborn. Taller than their feathered ilk, the draconi's great, bat-like wings, dry, scaly skin, and slitted, reptilian eyes have marked them as frightening monsters in Aviai fae tales.
But the true monsters do not fly. The real demons live on the ground, where thick tree canopies leave them half blind from lack of light. Their bodies are twisted, mishapen, and grotesque, with crumpled, weak, malformed wings, follies of the grace that soars so easily above them. They have no name, not that we know of. They are cold, cruel, vicious, and as twisted of mind as they are of body, though highly intelligent. They hate the ones who fly, feeling cheated with their monsters bodies and worthless wings. They kill any who come near. They are known only as the Misshapen.
Then there are my kind. The betrayed, as we call ourselves. Betrayed by our people for the color of our feathers. Doomed to stuggle in the trees, a step ahead of the Misshapen. Cursed to live and die in the darkness. Marked from birth as traitors. We are the betrayed. We are the hated. We are the Blackwings.
Soon. Soon, you will understand. Soon, my story will begin. Who am I?
My name is Cain.

"How do you forget your first love?"
The words surprised the young woman. She had not expected him to say something of the sort, especially this being the first time they've met up--well at least at his request to see her.
She lowered her cup of mocha latte to the wooden table with her eyes locked curiously with his perplexed pair. She was unsure how to answer the question herself, but what came out of her lips were, "Time."
"How long?" It was immediate, she sensed his distress and a hint of what seems like desperation.
Her eyes glanced at a miscellaneous tree outside the window. She smiled despite the resurfacing bitterness tugging at he

Sounds good. This seems to hold much promise. I rather hope to see it reach its full potential.
